Stop Wasting Money Trying to Quit Smoking

The No-BS Guide to Your First Vaping Setup

If you’re trying to quit smoking, do NOT spend $200+ on your first vaping kit. It’s not just a waste it actually makes quitting harder for most people.

Here’s the Problem

Way too many people think switching to vaping means you need to become a tech expert overnight. You don’t. The reality? The easier you make your transition, the more likely you are to actually quit smoking.

We recently talked to a customer who felt totally overwhelmed after dropping a couple hundred bucks on a “starter” kit—only to end up back at cigarettes. Why? Because nobody told them it could be simple.

Let’s fix that.

Remember the goal:

You are trying to QUIT, not start a new hobby.

What You Actually Need (And Nothing More)

Step 1. Get a Simple Device

Common Mistakes

  • Don’t overspend on a device before you even know if vaping works for you. Your first setup should be cheap, easy, and last a long time.
  • You don’t need anything more than a device that runs under 25 watts. This is your FIRST try—don’t go all out.

    Our recommendations:

Both are affordable, reliable, and perfect for beginners.

Step 2. Pick a pack of Pods

      Common Mistakes

      • Don’t stress about resistance and wattage. People who get into high-tech setups are usually in it for the hobby. Right now, your focus is quitting cigarettes.
      • If you pick a device with complicated pods or coils, it gets frustrating fast. Coils can short out, and user error is common. Stick to CRC-compliant pods they’re much easier.

        Quick Reference:

        • High Ohms (bigger number): Less smoke, tighter pull (like a cigarette).
        • Low Ohms (smaller number): More smoke, looser pull.
        • Higher Wattage: More smoke, burns juice faster.
        • Lower Wattage: Less smoke, juice lasts longer.

Step 3. Pick the Right Juice

        Common Mistakes

        • Don’t buy the cheapest bottle. Look for brands that actually invest in quality. If a company doesn’t put effort into their product, odds are quality control is weak.

          Nicotine Strength:

          • If you’re a smoker, just start with 20mg salt nic. It actually works for cravings—almost every customer we’ve helped says so. You can always go lower once you’re comfortable.

            Flavors:

            • If you want a realistic tobacco: we recommend Montreal Originals.

Why? Because these guys only do tobacco, and they do it well. No weird aftertaste, just a solid classic smoke vibe.

            • If you want fruit: Flavor Beast is our pick for people who want something sweet and punchy. Easy, no guesswork.

              Things people don’t tell you

              • First puff will be different. Be prepared—it doesn’t feel like a cigarette. You’ll probably cough at first. That’s normal. Remember your first cigarette? Same thing. You’ll figure out your own comfort level with time.
              • Don’t expect to quit overnight. Some do, but for most, it’s gradual. Aim to smoke one less cigarette a week. That’s real lasting progress. If you can do better then this, you are crushing it.
              • When filling your pod: Never fill the pod while it’s in the device. You risk misfires and burnt pods. Take the pod out, fill it up, and let it sit for 2–5 minutes before use.
              • Experiment in the 16W–25W range to find what works best for you.
